Honestly, these weights will suffice, weight is weight, so no problem there. But I'd also like to note that it's actually not a 44-pound package, but rather a 41.8-pound one. Not really sure how they calculated the kg to lbs because if you add them all together you only end up with 41.8 not 44. Therefore, if you expect to get what you see, you may not get what you hoped.
While this did work as intended,I encountered a complication with the threads that would hold the weights in place. They are quite flimsy — while attempting to tighten the nut to hold the weights in place, the threads broke. I couldn't even get the weights to stay on the bar. Looking back, I should have just bought the metal dumb bells. Should not waste my money on this.
These are fantastic! They are what they look like and what they say! Only reason I deducted a star is sometimes they start to come a bit loose while in use. They will need to be tightened every time you use them.
Yes, the bar is plastic and no, it is not for heavy lifting. Exactly what I need since I'm not exactly a spring chicken (more like a cock in a tuxedo!) So I definitely could use some weights for toning my arms. These bars are also the ideal acidity and weight for working out your wrists and arms without over-doing it, especially if you have carpal tunnel!
So I would NOT recommend this! It has shorts to get it lose when I have weight on it, and it wobbles like crazy, so I feel less than safe. This is why I have personally stopped completely using them. Totally a waste of cash!
